Stilling Ateliér
Creating in between the space of interior design and art.

About Sara Stilling
Sara Stilling is a Copenhagen-based artist and designer working at the intersection of sculpture and functional design. Her work is centered around form—often bold, bodily, and sometimes uncomfortable—but always intentional.
With a background in design—spanning fashion, product, and illustration—her practice has evolved into a more tactile and material-driven approach. Clay has become her primary medium, used for its immediacy and responsiveness in shaping sculptural forms. Many of her objects are made to be used in everyday life, even if they challenge traditional ideas of function or beauty.
Stilling’s style leans into contrast: soft forms made from heavy materials, minimal silhouettes with emotional presence. She has lived and worked across cities like New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong—experiences that continue to inform her global, intuitive design language.
Today, she divides her time between Copenhagen and Portugal, where she explores new materials and production methods for both art and interiors. Her work has been shipped across Europe and to Dubai, and includes sculptural objects, furniture, lighting, and interiors that speak the same language: tactile, minimal, and emotionally grounded.
Interior Design
Sara approaches interiors with the same sculptural sensitivity found in her object work. The spaces she creates are minimalistic, material-led, and functional—built to feel calm but with strong visual identity.
Her interiors use earthy tones, raw textures, and bold forms to create balance without excess. Each project is shaped to support everyday life while holding a quiet emotional weight.
Whether shaping a single room or a complete space, the focus is on creating environments that feel lived-in, honest, and considered.
